Berlin

It was just a couple of days past New Year’s Eve and we were travelling back to Edinburgh via Berlin. With only a little time on our hands we paced quickly around the city, trying to visit the most iconic landmarks. The January gloom added to a particularly depressing time by the Wall, but the Christmas market and the old-fashioned photo booths kept the spirits high. We entered the Reichstag late and got an (almost) aerial view from the Dome of Berlin at night. At night we saw the Gate and walked under the naked linden trees, past the river and back to our suitcases.

We promised ourselves we will visit again and we will see it all in the light of the day and the warmth of the summer.
